47% of Guatemalans are illiterate, and the average Guatemalan makes less than $200 per month.  Disabled Guatemalans receive no financial aid from the Guatemalan government and must depend solely on financially incapable family members.  The opportunities for the disabled are severely limited.

The Transitions Foundation is committed to making a difference in the lives of people who may otherwise have no opportunities to grow, to learn and to become literate and productive contributors to their Guatemalan culture.  The purpose of this website is to inspire you to get involved by partnering with us. We hope you will take further interest in supporting Transitions to better the lives of disabled people in Guatemala.
